LUXEMBOURG QUANTUM ALLIANCE

Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 2026 | RCS F15443

Who we are

Luxembourg Quantum Alliance (LQA) is a non-profit association (ASBL) registered in Luxembourg under RCS number F15443, with its registered address at 1, Am Pesch, L-9660 Insenborn, Luxembourg.

We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. Any question or request related to your data can be sent to secretariat@lqa.lu.

What data we collect and why

We collect the following personal data, and only when you actively give us consent to do so: first name, last name, and email address.

We use this data for two purposes only. First, to send you our monthly newsletter with updates about Luxembourg's quantum ecosystem and LQA activities. Second, if you choose to become a member, to manage your LQA membership.

We collect nothing else. We do not track your browsing behaviour, we do not place advertising cookies, and we do not build profiles.

Legal basis for processing

The legal basis for processing your personal data is your explicit consent, in line with Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You give this consent at the moment you sign up for the newsletter or register as a member through the self-service tool on this website.

You can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing we carried out before you withdrew it.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our monthly newsletter, we use your name and email address to send it to you. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link. One click is all it takes to be removed from the mailing list. We will process your removal promptly.

Membership

If you register as a member of LQA through the self-service tool on this website, your name and email address are used to manage your membership. You can leave the membership at any time using the same self-service tool, or by contacting us at secretariat@lqa.lu. Upon leaving, your data will be removed from our membership records.

Who has access to your data

Your personal data is accessible only to the LQA team members who need it to carry out the activities described above. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your data with any third parties, external organisations, or commercial partners.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter or active as a member. Once you unsubscribe or leave the membership, your data is deleted. If you ask us to delete your data at any point, we will do so without delay.

Your rights under GDPR

As a resident of the European Union, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • The right to access the data we hold about you
  • The right to correct any inaccurate data
  • The right to request deletion of your data
  • The right to withdraw consent at any time
  • The right to object to processing
  • The right to data portability

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at secretariat@lqa.lu. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we are not handling your data correctly, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Luxembourg data protection authority, the Commission Nationale pour la Protection des Données (CNPD), at cnpd.lu.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we do our best to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back periodically. Continued use of our website or services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
